Enhanced Safety
The raw material, lithium iron phosphate, has several beneficial characteristics: slow heat generation, low heat release, and no oxygen release. The unique flat rectangular shape also improves cooling efficiency and preheating performance.
Penetration Test
The penetration test is considered one of the most rigorous ways to test for thermal runaway in batteries. The goal is to simulate an internal short circuit in the battery. This is usually caused by sharp external metal objects penetrating the battery in a serious traffic accident. The BYD Blade Battery passed the penetration tests without emitting smoke or fire. The surface temperature reached only 30 to 60°C.
Optimized Strength
